SCREENCASTS & HANDBOOKS
Although I made most of the material on DigitalWriting101.net for my students, some of the material would also be relevant to colleagues, both for their own digital composition projects and for the ones they assign students.
Handout categories include Using Custom WordPress, Composing Audio Projects, Composing Photo Essays, Digital Storytelling, and more.
Please note that these materials are under constant revision, so if you want to share them with your students, I recommend giving them a link to the main site rather than to a particular page.
WORKSHOPS & PRESENTATIONS
DIGITAL STORYTELLING: COLTT 2011
I gave a two-hour presentation and mini-workshop on Digital Storytelling for the 2011 Colorado Learning and Teaching with Technology conference (COLTT). Here's the abstract I wrote for the conference program:Introduction to the theory and practice of using multimodal assignments to encourage student engagement and enhance learning, focusing specifically on the multidisciplinary genre of digital storytelling. You will actively participate in the process of planning, producing, and distributing your own short digital narrative, using widely available consumer-end tools such as iMovie. Bring your own digital photos!Participants were advised to read the Digital Storytelling Workshop page before attending, and my notes from the workshop are available here.
